There is a girl, far away from here
Living, existing, enduring until the day she can break free and escape
to the land where snowflakes dance with the wind as if they are making love
and fire teaches wood how to make love as if it were dancing...instead,
She resides surrounded by ordinary folk
imprisoned by their disbelief
the walls closing in tight
smaller, more confining
until there is no
room left to
breathe

She is an odd in an even realm
trying so hard to break from the conformity
wants pound her like waves hitting the beach
breaking away from the sea only to be dragged back again
the wants confusing her, dominating her will
wanting to be noticed
wanting to be ignored
wanting to be desired
wanting to be left alone
wanting to be admired
wanting to be feared
wanting to be invincible
wanting to be hurt
wanting to be the center of attention
wanting to be invisible
wanting to be different
wanting to be strange

Perhaps she is too bossy, too different, too strange
Those around her think they know what she is, who she is
They pass her by, calling
"Hey, there's that weird, religiously-impaired, bossy psycho girl
who lives next door
and always wants attention."
They know not how she craves to be accepted by them.

If they wanted what she owns
they can have it.

If they wanted her money, her body, her life
she would give it
freely
without regret or fear

well,
maybe regret
maybe fear
but not enough
to save her.
